Welcome! Wow, I'm excited to be back into blogging mode. I'm very excited to be a part of the blog hop this week with Operation Write Home and Unity Stamp Co! What an awesome bunch of stamps they have to offer!
Today I am using the stamp set called Ragged ol' Flag. They're so grungy and cool looking! I immediately thought of masculine colors and themes. I especially like the Johnny Cash quote!
I stamped the flag stamp onto kraft cardstock and embossed with clear embossing powder. I was going to add the sentiment to the outside of this card as well, but it just covered up too much of the awesome flag image. I decided that less is more. I love this simple card. The clear embossing powder gives it a cool texture, too.
I went ahead and put the sentiment on the inside of the card. I do think that this would make an awesome "Any Hero" card for OWH.
The more I played with these stamps the more I loved them, especially the "handmade" stamp. I wanted to think of a way to incorporate this in to the front of a card. "Made in the U.S.A." also makes me think of things like apple pie and jeans. :) So here is my second card. I used some denim patterned paper and I stitched using a template and some light tan floss. The star stamp is heat embossed with white powder so that it, too, has a cool texture.
