My Country Bloghop!

Hello, and welcome! Hej, og velkommen!

This week I am so excited to be part of the OWH/OSH bloghop. We are joining forces with our sister card making organization in Denmark to bring you all some really fun and inspirational patriotic cards! I just love her work and the photos of her home. Makes me want to visit Denmark for a card making day. :) Now wouldn't that be fun?

Here is my red white and blue hop card and a sketch if you are playing along this week. You will find a whole ton of new, bonus sketches along the hop.

I used my Cricut (Art Philosophy - CTMH) to make the jagged circles and the firecracker. (Stand & Salute). Here is a tiny tutorial on that firecracker fuse.

I used gold embossing powder on a stamp from the American Celebration stamp set and heated it. I pierced a little hole in the top of the firecracker and threaded some baker's twine through the hole. I frayed the end of the twine a little and colored it with a black marker to make it look burned. I taped the twine to the back of the firecracker before adding the firecracker to the card with some foam squares... doesn't it look like you had better stand back? :)

I have really enjoyed also looking at her cards and trying to decide what the sentiments translate to. I've decided that it doesn't matter - beautiful hand made cards give you warm fuzzies no matter what language they are in! I can't read the words, but the love shines through. How much fun is that?
